All Polytag QR codes are powered by GS1 Digital Link, meaning they follow all GS1 standards. This means that the data embedded in your QR codes can be scanned and interpreted across the globe by mobile phones, applications (consumer and supply chain) and soon at point of sale.

Here is how to download your QR codes in a couple of clicks, to send to your artwork provider so they can add to your label artwork.

  1. Go to the Catalogue tab
  2. In the Products section at the top, for any one of your products click on the ellipsis button (three dots) on the far right of the row
  3. This will open up a pop-up window. Click on the menu option Download QR code
  4. This will take you to a pop-up window where you can download the QR code for the product you selected, for all products in that product group, or for all products in your entire catalogue. The QR codes are downloaded as SVG (vector) image files. This means the image can scale up or down without pixelating, and can be easily dropped into your product artwork. The little information (i) icon tells you the minimum size the QR code must measure so that it is compliant with GS1 global standards.

If your printer asks you for the URI that generates the QR code, it is simply

https://tgz.bz/01/**"your GTIN with a preceding zero"**

So for example, if we take the Polytag 13-digit GTIN 5060919080055, the URI to generate the QR code would be https://tgz.bz/01/05060919080055 Note that the QR codes created by these URL’s will only scan if you are on a paid plan with Polytag (on the free plan you can scan our demo QR codes to see what the end result looks like).

When downloading one of your SVG (vector) files, or providing your URL to a printer, this is to print what we call Polytag QR codes (you may also here the term static, which means no variable data within the code). This means the QR code will be the same per each product (GTIN). Whereas with Polytag's unique-every-time QR codes, every individual instance of a product has its own unique QR code.
