The Data Capture form enables you to have a two-way conversation with your customers! This is done by capturing customer email addresses and associated data via a simple module you can add to any landing page. This is useful if you want to drive repeat purchase via coupons or discount codes, or if you want to run a competition for your customers.
- Go to the Landing Pages tab and either create a new landing page or edit an existing one
- Add a new element called Form
- You can fully customize the label for the email address box, the placeholder text for the email box, and styles/colours of the background and the button by clicking on the ellipsis (three dots) in the top right corner of the Form module and selecting Advanced styling
- Label text is the title for the form (optional)
- Placeholder text is the greyed out text in the box where consumers input their email address
- Button text is the text on the button the consumer will click to submit their email address
- Finally you can add one or two check boxes to enable your customers to consent to being contacted, with links to your T&Cs and privacy policy. You can determine whether or not your customers must tick the check boxes before they can submit their email address
- Terms text is the small piece of text to ask your consumers to agree to your terms and conditions/terms of service. It is fully customisable.
- Terms link is the link to take the consumer to your terms and conditions on your website, should they wish to. If you leave the entry as # there will be no link
- Tick is mandatory makes the checkbox mandatory for consumers to tick should you wish
- You can add a second check box (optional)
Once your products are live, customers who scan your QR codes will be able to submit their email address via the landing page. To retrieve the data, go to the Landing Pages tab, and click on the ellipsis (three dots) next to the landing page you added the Form to. From the dropdown menu you will see the option Download form entries. Select this, and it will download a CSV file containing the following data..
- Timestamp of email submission
- Customers' email address
- Campaign the scan relates to
- Landing Page that was scanned
- Product that was scanned
- GTIN
- Unique serial number (where applicable)
You can run campaigns for standard Polytag QR codes or for Polytag unique-every-time QR codes.
If you run campaigns using standard Polytag QR codes our system recognises duplicate email addresses, and will limit email submissions to one per email address for a given campaign. If you run campaigns using Polytag unique-every-time QR codes, our system recognises each unique serial, and so will limit customer submissions to one per serial number (useful if you want to enable one submission per product purchased).
